Senior Project

For my senior project, Communicating Change: A Visual Analysis of American Political and Activist Posters, I analyzed 40 historically significant American posters to examine how visual design can communicate political ideas and support movements. Drawing on movements ranging from wartime propaganda to civil rights, I studied how color, typography, composition, and other visual variables contribute to a successful poster. I then applied my findings by creating two posters informed by the visual strategies found in my research. You can view the full research project on Cal Poly Digital Commons here.
